Chemical peels at Wellsprings Medical Spa exfoliate the uppermost layers of the skin working to remove and minimize unappealing abnormalities. Then the smooth and healthy skin below is revealed in a procedure generally lasting under half an hour. The healing process, during which instructions to properly care for the treated skin are followed, will also promote the growth of fresh skin rich with collagen as well. A series of chemical peels scheduled at specific intervals can also strengthen the skin. In fact, this will make the treated skin stronger against the harmful effects of the environment. With chemical peels, a number of problems which plague the skin can be treated, including sun damage, acne, acne scarring, and hyperpigmentation.

Each treatment is performed on an outpatient basis at our aesthetic medical centre in Toronto. We currently offer two types of chemical peels: AlumierMD Peel Exfoliating Treatment and PCA Professional™ Smoothing Body Peel Treatment.

AlumierMD Exfoliating Treatment

The AlumierMD Peel Exfoliating Treatment is a TCA (Trichloroacetic Acid) peel. With the unique ability to treat all skin types, the AlumierMD Peel® can brighten the complexion and dramatically improve pigmentation irregularities. Its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties are effective in easing the inflammation and redness related to more severe forms of acne or rosacea. Key ingredients include Trichloroacetic, Lactic, Azelaic, and Kojic acids. AlumierMD Peel® also features Arbutin to assist in hyperpigmentation.

PCA Professional™ Smoothing Body Peel Treatment

The PCA Professional™ Smoothing Body Peel Treatment is ideal for rejuvenation of the skin on the body, particularly the arms, legs, back and chest – areas that are prone to complexion problems. The feet and hands may also be targeted. This treatment is effective for pigmentation irregularities and textural problems, leaving the skin smooth, more even toned and hydrated.

The aesthetic medical treatment consists of two steps: Step 1, the Pre-peel Accelerator Mask, and Step 2, the Smoothing Body Peel. Key ingredients in the Mask are urea and malic acid while the Peel contains Trichloroacetic, Lactic, Salicylic and Kojic acids as well as Arbutin.
